Who should take this course?

This course is suitable where an employer’s assessment for its First Aid needs identifies that a first aider is required under the requirements of the first aid at work regulations.

Duration: 3 DAY

Assessment Format: Multi-choice exam and practical assessment

Pre-requisites: None

Course Content:

• Duties & Responsibilities of First Aider
• Identification & Management of casualties.
• Treating young children and the elderly
• Treatment of shock, bleeding and resuscitation
• Treatment of injuries to bone, muscle and joints.
• Treatment of minor injuries, burns and scalds
• Control of first aid boxes and materials.
• Record keeping of sickness, injuries and treatment
• Concerns regarding hepatitis and immunodeficiency virus
• Personal hygiene

Course Outcomes:

On successful completion of this course delegates will be able to act as First aiders in accordance with the First aid at Work regulations. This certificate is valid for three years.

Award: On successful completion of the course candidates will be awarded a 3 Day FAW.
